Beach Passes-  The SeaBoard makes 6 passes of the Ocean City beach daily (from the inlet to 142nd Street).  Each pass takes approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes.  Advertising is priced on a per pass basis.

Spots-  Advertisements may be purchased in 6 second or 12 second spots.  Six seconds is approximately the same length of time a highway billboard is effectively visible to a driver on the road.  Six second spots are more conducive to traditional static advertising messages.  Twelve second spots are preferable for video messages.

Loops-  Spots are run in a loop that repeats itself every 2 – 2.5 minutes.  The length of the loop was calculated to match the amount of time the boat is visible to an individual sitting stationary on the beach.  As a result, each spot in the loop has an opportunity to be seen by everyone on the beach.  A spot displayed every 2 – 2.5 minutes will be shown 30 – 40 times per pass.  The digital medium builds anticipation with the audience and people keep watching to see what will come up next.

Half Spots-  Half spots are displayed every 4 – 5 minutes.  In other words, they are included in every other run of the loop and reach half of the beach.  Half spots are priced at 55% of a full spot.  They will show 15 – 20 times per pass.

Circulation-  The Ocean City Department of Tourism’s DemoFlush Statistics indicate an average summer population of 273,227.  Assuming 50% of the population visits the beach on any given “beach day” the SeaBoard makes 136,614 impressions daily.  Dividing by our 6 passes per day we estimate 22,769 impressions per beach pass.  Half spots would be 11,385 impressions.

Message Mix-  Our advertisers can provide any number of different ads to be shown when their spot comes up.  Suppose you provide ads 1, 2, 3 and 4.  Our software will display ad 1 on the first loop.  When the loop repeats itself it will automatically cycle forward and display ad 2.  When it repeats again it will load ad 3 and so on.  An advertiser may also specify different ads to be shown dependent on the day of the week or time of day their spot is showing.

Schedules-  Advertisers can really put themselves at the top of mind by running their ad in a schedule.  Ads in a full week schedule run every day the boat sails and are priced at a 50% discount when contracted for the full season.  Ads in a half week schedule run 3 - 4 days per week and are priced at a 35% discount when contracted for the full season.  Advertisers running messages on a schedule have the option of purchasing additional passes for specific dates or times as needed at the discounted rate.  Their requests receive priority over non-scheduled clients.
